Driving out of town to see a dermatologist? Coffey County Hospital has great news for you! Nurse Practitioner Alexandra Heeren is accepting patients in Burlington on the fourth Thursday of each month. She arrives on January 28.

Heeren completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Georgetown University in 2014. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her dermatology training was completed with Joseph Gadzia, M.D., who is certified by the American College of Dermatology. Her practice is based with Dr. Gadzia at Kansas Medical Clinic in Topeka.
Dermatologists diagnose and treat more than 3,000 different diseases and conditions of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes (e.g., lining inside the mouth, nose, and eyelids). These diseases include skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections. Dermatologists can also assist scars, age spots, wrinkling and other concerns in patients of all ages.
