Coffey County Hospital will host “Birth & Beyond,” a free childbirth class for expectant parents, on the evenings of February 7 & 9 in Allen Woods 2 Conference Room.  Each session begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. 

Michelle McVey and Andette McAdoo, registered nurses in the Coffey County Hospital obstetrics department, bring 18 years of experience to the class. They will cover everything from the stages of labor, delivery, inductions, and Caesarian sections to pain management during and after delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. The class will also cover information about the last trimester of pregnancy.

Birth & Beyond is free of charge for Coffey Health System patients. Pre-registration is required, and can be completed by calling the CCH obstetrics department at (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4410.

Participants are encouraged to bring their support person. All other materials will be provided.
