Expert Tips for Recognizing Mental Illness
One in four adults in America experience mental illness in a given year. The public is invited to learn more about mental illness when Licensed Social Worker Lucas Markowitz presents the next installment of Coffey Health System’s “Lunch & Learn” series on Friday, May 6.
His presentation highlights commonly diagnosed mental illnesses. Markowitz will share his expertise in recognizing key symptoms. He will also break down stereotypes and provide information on local resources available for those who need help.
“The current state of mental health services is a hot news topic in Kansas. With a shortage of inpatient treatment options, it is more important than ever to recognize mental illness and get help early,” said Director of Marketing Tracy Campbell. “Coffey Health System relies on Lucas’s expertise with patients and his skill at teaching our staff. We are pleased to offer this opportunity for the public to learn from him as well.”
The presentation is from noon to 1 p.m. in Coffey County Hospital's Allen Woods 2 Conference Room. Attendance and lunch are free; however, seating is limited. To register by phone, call the Melanie Mozey at (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4174. Online registration is also available at www.coffeyhealth.org. The Lunch & Learn series is a community service of Coffey Health System.
