Keeping you safe

We have safety measures throughout Coffey Health System to protect against COVID-19 infection. Please note that these precautions are subject to change.

  • For the safety of our patients and residents, visitation is not allowed at Coffey County Hospital, The Meadows in Burlington, or Sunset Manor in Waverly. The only exceptions at the hospital are: one support person for labor & deliver, one guardian for pediatrics, and one loved one for patients approaching end of life.
  • Drivers accompanying surgery patients must wait in their cars.
  • Patients coming into the hospital, ER, or a CHS clinic will be screened for a fever and complete a form. This is not a COVID-19 test!  Your physician will decide if a COVID-19 test is necessary.
  • If you are experiencing a cough or fever over 100 degrees and feel that you need medical assistance,  PLEASE CALL before you arrive. You might be told to enter through a different door or maybe even to wait in your car while staff comes to you. If necessary, you might be issued a mask to wear.
  • Everyone—including our entire staff—is screened upon entering a CHS facility. Patients with a cough or fever over 100 degrees will wear a mask.
  • No hospital visitors are allowed (exceptions: one visitor for obstetrics, pediatrics, or when end-of-life is imminent).
  • The hospital cafeteria is closed to the public.
  • Our gift shop is closed until further notice.
